This is the U.S.S. Oberon, NCC-1880. I named her for the ship from "Ships of the Star Fleet, Volume One". She started out life as a "seconds" casting of a PNT Models Avenger-class heavy frigate model. There was a huge, gaping hole in the middle of the front saucer area. At the time I got this, these were very hard to come by, so I filled up the void w/a combination of putty and CA over about a week, sanding where necessary to get the shape right.

Later, I took a weapons roll bar that was also a "second" w/a huge void in the front of the weapons pod and started doing some sanding. Then I started putting a couple of layers of putty on to thicken it up and get the base shape I wanted. I then started trying to sand the pod to get the shape closer to the actual Endurance-class sensor pod, as seen in SotSF. However, I failed, as it's not any where nearly as good as I'd like.

Anyhow, here's the nearly finished model. I still have to add the sensors to underside of the nacelles, but she doesn't look too bad, IMO. I need to do a bit more puttying and sanding, another coat of primer - that's flat white you see on there in the pic - and then start over w/the painting. I'm mostly happy w/the sensor pod, as working at that scale w/o being able to SLA the photorp pod is a real bear.
